Process/Project Engineer
Location: Louisville, KY
Salary Range: $105,000 – $115,000
Primary Purpose
Work cross-functionally with the division’s outside sales team to solve customer problems and address customer needs through the delivery of cost-effective engineered-to-order solutions, including project management, project estimation, system design, and installation support.
Key Responsibilities
Design small to mid-sized sanitary manufacturing and cleaning processes with assistance from more experienced engineers.
Evaluate customer opportunities with Outside Sales and develop recommendations to solve customer needs through estimating, design, and delivery of customized solutions.
Utilize CAD to prepare engineering drawings, including process flow diagrams, P&IDs, equipment layouts, general assembly drawings, and solid models, following accepted engineering principles.
Understand customer requirements, develop project cost estimates, and create customer proposals with assistance from senior engineers.
Deliver small to mid-sized projects as both project manager and design engineer to meet customer requirements and internal performance, quality, cost, and schedule targets.
Identify and mitigate risk factors that may prevent successful project delivery.
Contribute to and facilitate effective technical and cross-functional design reviews.
Manage onsite installations as the customer point-of-contact and lead for subcontractors; ensure projects are completed per requirements and to the customer’s satisfaction.
Issue change orders when projects deviate from agreed-upon scope.
Facilitate the development of project documentation and turnover packages.
Communicate effectively with senior management and maintain positive relations with all operating groups, especially Sales.
Support and promote engineering processes while offering ideas for continuous improvement.
Build knowledge of and apply relevant industry standards to customized solutions.
Stay current on new technology and applications within the industry; meet with vendors to review available products and technology.
Interface with third-party partners, including equipment and material suppliers.
Remain up to date on safety training and certifications, promoting safe work practices on job sites and in the shop.
Promote an engaging work environment by exhibiting a positive attitude, helping where needed, and being an active team member.

Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering (or equivalent) from an accredited institution.
Background or training in fluid processing a plus.
Experience with drafting, solid modeling, and design packages (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Creo, Inventor) preferred.
Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
Ability to travel to customer and vendor facilities; approximately 35% travel required.
