Job Description:
SUMMARY
This position offers a $10,000 Sign On Bonus and has the flexibility to work remote 1 day a week
We are looking for a Project Engineer who will be responsible for maintaining excellence in developing, executing and controlling assigned projects to achieve plant goals. Through expert application of engineering techniques and principles, the incumbent will conduct analyses and investigations pertaining to construction of new facilities and enhancements for existing facilities to optimize productive capability of the plant. We encourage the Project Engineer to make sound recommendations, considering such factors as cost, maintainability, facility of production and availability of materials and equipment with emphasis on safety and optimum performance. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, highly adaptive and capable of managing multiple engineering assignments.
Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Proactively identify engineering opportunities and apply technical expertise to develop actionable solutions.
Partner with production and maintenance teams to address operational or maintenance problems. Conduct engineering analyses and follow through with project recommendations.
Develop project scopes of work, create and assemble drawings, initiate purchase requisitions, manage contractor progress, and ensure successful project startup and completion.
Take ownership of the assigned project from conception to completion with little supervision, applying all areas of engineering expertise to obtain a successful outcome.
Develop detailed justifications for capital expenditures and communicate them both verbally and in writing at multiple levels within the organization.
Work with Purchasing in the procurement of project materials and purchase order issuance to contractors.
Coordinate between GAF and contractor representatives to complete projects on time and within budget.

Entry knowledge of manufacturing analysis tools, such as statistical analysis/statistical process control (SPC), process capability studies, lean manufacturing, 5S, Six Sigma, Kepner Tregoe, and/or Design of Experiments (DOE)
Knowledge of engineering fundamentals
Intermediate proficiency in mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatics
General knowledge/skills (entry, intermediate, advanced)
Intermediate communication skills

Intermediate organizational skills and attention to detail
Intermediate problem solving skills

Physical Requirements
Ability to read and concentrate via computer data entry typing and proofreading
Must be able to climb ladders and/or stairs and walk on open grating on elevated surfaces

Basic Qualifications:
A BS in Engineering (Electrical or Mechanical)
Demonstrated knowledge of engineering fundamentals and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office and/or Google Suites and AutoCAD.
Strong communication and decision-making skills.
A graduate with engineering co-op experience in a manufacturing environment
