Job Title: Project Engineer – Civil Earthwork

Position Summary:
We are urgently hiring a Project Engineer with hands-on experience in dirt—mass grading, excavation, and earthwork—to support large-scale civil projects across the Western U.S. This is not just a behind-the-desk job. Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate daily with the Project Manager to support grading, excavation, and site development projects.
Track field production, quantities, and job costs using HCSS (HeavyJob), Excel, and other tools.
Assist in preparing daily field reports, RFIs, submittals, pre-task plans, and project schedules.
Review civil plans and grading sheets to identify field requirements, conflicts, and optimization opportunities.
Coordinate with surveyors, foremen, and subcontractors to align on scope, timeline, and execution.
Support quality inspections, environmental compliance checks, and jobsite safety protocols.
Maintain accurate and timely project documentation and assist with closeout packages.
Participate in pre-construction walks, weekly coordination meetings, and field engineering tasks.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred. Equivalent field experience strongly considered.
1–3 years of experience in civil construction, preferably with a focus on earthwork, grading, or mass excavation.
Proficiency in HCSS (HeavyJob), Excel, and Bluebeam; Procore experience is a plus.
Ability to interpret civil drawings, cut/fill maps, and utility layouts.
Strong communication and time management skills.
Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and committed to delivering results.
Willingness to work on active job sites and travel to projects across the Western U.S.
Compensation & Benefits:
Base Salary: $70,000–$90,000 annually, depending on experience
