Project Engineer – Food Manufacturing
Location: Greater Research Triangle Region, NC
Compensation: Targeting $90,000–$100,000k + bonus + strong benefits (4 weeks PTO, 401k match)
A fast-growing food production facility in the Southeast is hiring a Project Engineer to support capital projects, continuous improvement, and facility upgrades. This is a full-time, onsite opportunity with long-term visibility and a steady flow of project work.
You’ll tackle projects like:
Planning and overseeing installation of buffer and discharge belts on packaging lines
Supporting expansion of production areas and related infrastructure
Implementing new mechanical or electrical systems for efficiency and throughput
Collaborating with cross-functional teams to lead or support technical improvements
We’re looking for someone with:
2+ years of experience in food, CPG, or light industrial manufacturing
Background in electro-mechanical or electrical engineering
Experience managing projects from scope through implementation
Hands-on knowledge of packaging lines, pneumatics, and automation systems
Strong problem-solving skills and a structured approach to technical challenges
Nice to have:
CAD and MS Project familiarity
Lean, Six Sigma, or PMP training
Some travel flexibility for coordination with other facilities (domestic/international)
