Position Overview
The Project Engineer is a key member of our Professional Services team, responsible for leading and executing client projects from kickoff to delivery. You'll manage multiple concurrent projects, ensuring successful implementation of infrastructure solutions across both cloud and on-premises environments.
In this hands-on role, you'll design, build, and maintain systems that support project goals while driving modernization and optimization initiatives. You'll take ownership of projects through technical execution, and advanced troubleshooting - ensuring every project meets performance, scalability, and security standards.

Responsibilities
- Must be able to execute projects from start to finish, including all communications, planning, and technical delivery
- Lead the execution of technical projects, demonstrating mastery of core technologies such as Windows Server, Hyper-V, Firewalls (Fortinet, Meraki, SonicWall), Switching, Routing, Wireless (UniFi, Meraki), Active Directory, Group Policy, Office 365, Intune, and Azure
- Serve as the primary technical resource and SME, resolving complex project challenges and ensuring seamless progression through all project phases
- Ensure thorough and accurate documentation for all project deliverables, contributing to knowledge sharing and operational continuity
- Oversee and execute technical implementation, ensuring all project components align with company standards and meet client-specific configurations
- Conduct post-project reviews to identify lessons learned and integrate process improvements to enhance future delivery
- Mentor and support junior engineers, providing guidance and expertise to help them develop their technical skills
- Evaluate and refine project implementation delivery processes to enhance efficiency, consistency, and quality
- Collaborate with Service Desk, NOC, and Security teams to ensure reliability and alignment across environments.
- Maintain up to date Time Entries and Expenses for billing purposes
- Backups / DR system implementations, maintenance, and offsite replication setups
- Proactively identify risks, recommend improvements, and enhance overall client technology posture
- Stay current with emerging tech - bringing fresh ideas to evolve our managed services toolkit
- Occasional after-hours or weekend work based on pre-scheduling
Qualifications
- 4–7 years of experience in systems engineering or administration within a Managed Services or multi-client environment
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Clear and thorough written documentation skills, strong attention to detail
- A self-starter with the ability to create or improve standards for team-wide consistency
- Familiarity with RMM tools, PSA systems (ConnectWise preferred), and IT documentation platforms
- Strong knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, Microsoft 365, Azure, Hyper-V and VMware
- Experience implementing and managing virtualization technologies (VMware or Hyper-V) and network infrastructure
- Azure/Office 365: Advanced understanding of Azure/Office 365 Platform, including Setup, Migrations, and Administratio n
- VM Migrations, P2V and V2V
- Experience with Fortinet, Meraki, and SonicWall firewall products
- Networking: Strong knowledge of VLAN configuration and advanced switch configurations\Exposure to cybersecurity frameworks, endpoint protection, and zero-trust environments.
- Certifications: Relevant industry certifications such as MCSE, CCNA, ITIL, or similar are highly desirable.
