    Why This Role is PERFECT for You:

    This position is specifically for the structural fabrication and machining division of MYER Companies, known as MYER Marine & Mfg. LLC. This dynamic group primarily provides build-to-print custom steel products to the construction and maritime industries. This Estimator position has VERY HIGH GROWTH POTENTIAL and is ideal for an ambitious individual looking to join a fast-paced and fun team who take great pride in their work!

    What You'll Be Doing (The Exciting Stuff!):

    • Take direction from our Sales Manager for exciting incoming work opportunities for fabricated and/or machined products requiring estimations
    • Follow the direction of an assigned Project Manager in the generation of Quote Plans for specific projects
    • Break down supplied design information (blueprints/drawings, models, or verbal instructions) into functional components and generate bills of materials and operations
    • Communicate with Project Managers on any unclear scope - be the detective who gets to the bottom of every detail!
    • Provide accurate quantity ordering information for our Purchasing and Inventory teams, working directly with vendors when needed
    • ⏱ Apply precise man-hour estimations for each production step, collaborating with in-house experts and analyzing past performance
    • Master our MYER ERP system to ensure flawless project execution
    • ⚡ Deliver complete project estimates to Project Managers with lightning speed
    • Collaborate with our Engineering team on estimate changes as projects evolve
    • Track and crush key performance indicators - we love goal-crushers!
    • Take on additional exciting challenges as directed by leadership
    • Enjoy regular hours M-F, 7am-5pm at our state-of-the-art Corporate Office in Mobile, AL

    What Makes You Our Perfect Match?

    Education That Sets You Apart:

    • ✅ High school diploma or GED (non-negotiable!)
    • Secondary education in fabrication/machining technology, manufacturing engineering, or comparable field (major bonus points!)
    • The drive to excel in MYER's comprehensive training programs

    Experience That Counts:

    • ⭐ 2+ years of estimation and/or project management experience in custom fabrication/machining (we LOVE this!)
    • 2+ years production experience in custom fabrication/machining shops (huge advantage!)
    • Working experience with ERP software (you'll fit right in!)

    Special Skills That Make You Shine:

    • Blueprint reading mastery for fabricated metal products, including welding and machining symbols (MUST HAVE!)
    • Familiarity with common metal fabrication and welding methods (essential!)
    • ⚙ Knowledge of machining principles and general operations (required!)
    • Carbon steel materials expertise (grades, shapes, plates, stock sizes) - major plus!
    • AutoCAD and/or SolidWorks skills (preferred but we can work with you!)
    • Strong computer skills and eagerness to learn new programs
    • ✍ Excellent written and organizational skills with laser-sharp attention to detail
    • Microsoft Office Suite proficiency (Word, Excel, Outlook)

    Physical Requirements (You've Got This!):

    • Vision: Sharp eyes for fine work tools, computer screens, and navigating our awesome facilities
    • Hearing: Great listening skills for conversations and safety alerts
    • Speaking: Clear communication in English with individuals and groups
    • Equipment Operation: Master of standard office equipment and electronic access systems
    • Carrying/Lifting: Occasional lifting/carrying up to 25lbs (piece of cake!)
    • Movement: Comfortable sitting, standing, walking, and occasional squatting/kneeling
