    Project Manager - Heavy Civil Construction

    Basics:

    Our growing client is seeking a highly experienced Project Manager to manage civil projects from concept to completion (cradle to grave). The selected candidate will possess strong understanding of civil construction processes (including underground utilities, rock-heavy sitework challenges, etc).
    This role needs a strong knowledge of the civil construction industry, excellent communication skills, and proven track-record for delivering projects on time, within budget, and safely executed.

    Ground-level Duties:

    • Attending all client / sub meetings to understand project specific requirements.  
    • Compare budget and bid documents to check for alignment.
    • Develop site-specific project plans
    • Inspect shop drawings, manufacturing, and installations to the design intent and contract documents.
    • Lead subcontractors and supervision on the site.
    • Responsible for overall project, including obtaining permits and obtaining licenses, access, etc.
    • Lead in developing, planning overall project schedule.
    • Ability to anticipate problems and be proactive, not reactive, in problem solving.
    • Understand quantity take-offs and how to evaluate cut/fill.
    • Lead Field Superintendents on your projects.

    Required Qualifications

    •  5+ years of heavy civil experience in project management 
    • Ability to read and interpret grading and utility plans, specifications, and geotechnical information 
    • Knowledge of standard construction equipment and materials for earthwork and site utility projects.
    • Extensive knowledge of construction best practices, safety, equipment maintenance and use, and OSHA guidelines.
    • Have strong aptitude in math and creative problem-solving abilities.
    • Strong interpersonal skills – ability to manage multiple personality types to lead, motivate, and teach crews while maintaining a harmonious work environment.
