Project Manager – Commercial Roofing & Sheet Metal

    NW Illinois  / Chicago Area
    $90,000 – $110,000 + Vehicle/Allowance + Benefits

A well-established commercial roofing contractor in the NW Indiana / Chicago market is looking to add a Project Manager to their team due to a strong and growing backlog of work.

This is not a replacement hire—the team is busy, projects are active, and they need another solid, dependable PM to help carry the load.

    The Role

This is a true cradle-to-grave Project Manager position where you’ll take full ownership of your projects from handoff through closeout.

You’ll be managing a portfolio of 8–10 active jobs at a time, working directly with clients, field teams, and internal operations.

    • Lead projects from preconstruction through completion
    • Run weekly jobsite meetings and maintain client relationships
    • Manage schedules, budgets, and overall project execution
    • Handle RFIs, submittals, change orders, and documentation
    • Coordinate closely with superintendents, crews, and subcontractors
    • Ensure quality, safety, and production targets are met

    Project Profile

    • 85% New Construction / 15% Re-roof & Service
    • Typical project size: $350K – $500K
    • Strong sheet metal scope on most projects
    • Local work – within ~40 miles (NW Indiana / Chicago)
    • Stable pipeline with consistent backlog

    What They’re Looking For

    • Experience managing commercial roofing projects
    • Comfortable operating in a union environment
    • Hands-on, organized, and accountable
    • Strong communication skills—client-facing and team-oriented
    • Proficiency with Procore, Dataforma, or similar systems
    • Someone easy to work with who can integrate into a tight-knit team

    Why This Opportunity

    • Stable company with consistent workflow and backlog
    • Local projects—no excessive travel
    • Strong field and office support
    • Opportunity to step into a role where you’ll be trusted to run your work

    Timing

The team is targeting early April to begin interviews, aiming to bring someone on shortly thereafter.
