SUMMARY:
This role supports the successful delivery of medium- to large-scale, high-profile construction projects by planning, developing, coordinating, and directing all phases of project execution under direct supervision. The position works closely with internal teams, external partners, and government agencies to ensure projects meet scope, cost, and schedule objectives while following the company’s Construction Management Process (CMP). Responsibilities include integrating safety and reliability initiatives into project procedures, forecasting and reporting performance metrics, leading project meetings, and supporting advanced project management studies. The role requires strong coordination, problem-solving, and communication skills to manage diverse technical issues, allocate resources effectively, and keep projects on track. Candidates typically bring five to six years of related construction or operations project management experience and the ability to support capital projects ranging from $15–$20 million.
Job Function:
- Assists with developing, instituting, and improving cross-functional processes and procedures related to project management, work management, and cost estimating.
- Assists with integrating corporate initiatives—such as safety, environmental, and reliability improvement programs—into the corporate CMP process and procedures for large electric construction projects.
- Ensures delivery of large-scale construction projects and leads internal and external project meetings.
- Identifies, assesses, and implements corporate programs related to project management, cost estimation, planning, and scheduling, including software tools and other resources.
- Forecasts, documents, verifies, and reports all variances to management.
- Compiles, charts, and reports weekly, monthly, and annual Project Management Performance Measures to management.
- Works with management to define, coordinate, and manage project requirements to ensure labor and material resources are deployed effectively and efficiently for successful project delivery.
- Conducts project performance, cost, and scheduling studies and evaluations requiring advanced and innovative project management techniques and/or modifications of standard practices and concepts.
- May be required to work on special projects and perform other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field with five to six years of related experience in construction, operations management, or project management, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) or Six Sigma certification is preferred.
- Must possess a current, legally valid driver’s license and meet the company’s driving record requirements.

- Strong understanding of and proficiency with project management, cost-estimating, and work-management software.
- Advanced proficiency in word processing, spreadsheet, database, and presentation software.
- Ability to apply and interpret mathematical and engineering concepts; solve practical problems; and interpret instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Ability to identify when a project is off track and determine corrective actions to realign schedule and budget.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and assist with establishing the corporate framework for resource allocation.
- Impacts the organization’s ability to complete projects profitably and in compliance with regulatory requirements, including DOT, IEEE, ANSI, NEC, NESC, and OSHA.
- Typically responsible for capital project management ranging from $15 to $20 million.
- Ability to stand or walk up to one-third of the time and sit up to two-thirds of the time; may occasionally lift up to 10 pounds.
