  • Responsibilities

Technical Source is partnering with a leading biotechnology manufacturer on a large-scale FactoryTalk View SE Distributed system modernization initiative. Our client is upgrading their distributed FactoryTalk systems as part of a corporate obsolescence and regulatory compliance effort. These systems directly support GMP production operations and require coordination with QA and CSV teams.

We are seeking a Project Manager to lead and coordinate this multi-workstream upgrade effort.

This is not a coding or programming role.
This is a GMP-focused technical project management role.

    Responsibilities

    • Coordinate parallel FactoryTalk View SE Distributed system upgrades
    • Manage milestone schedules using Microsoft Project
    • Drive agile-style tracking and roadblock visibility (JIRA preferred)
    • Track validation deliverables (IQ/OQ/CSV milestones)
    • Identify risks early and prevent schedule slippage
    • Align overloaded engineering teams and vendors
    • Provide weekly progress updates to leadership
    • Share lessons learned across system “neighborhoods” to improve execution

This role operates in an influence-based environment (no direct reports).

    Required Experience

    • Project management experience in a GMP pharmaceutical environment
    • Experience supporting validated system upgrades in live manufacturing operations
    • Understanding of distributed control system architecture (FactoryTalk View SE preferred; experience with DeltaV or similar DCS possible)
    • Familiarity with validation concepts (CSV, IQ/OQ impact)
    • Experience managing multiple parallel workstreams

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Prior exposure to FactoryTalk View SE Distributed environments
    • Experience supporting virtualized server environments (vSphere)
    • JIRA or agile / Kanban experience
    • Ability to influence without formal authority

    Ideal Candidate

    • 3–7 years of relevant automation or infrastructure project management experience
    • Comfortable working in a highly regulated, high-complexity GMP environment
    • Strong communicator who can manage overloaded technical teams
    • Organized, proactive, and risk-aware

    What This Role Is Not

    • Not a PLC programming role
    • Not a hands-on controls engineering role
    • Not an IT infrastructure administrator role
    • Not a construction PM

This is a structured, GMP-focused program coordination role supporting a critical automation upgrade initiative.
