    Construction Project Manager

    Location: Sonora, CA (Central Valley project travel)

    The Construction Project Manager manages multiple commercial real estate construction projects simultaneously — from pre-construction through turnover. This role is office-based with regular site visits. PMs report to the Director of Construction and are supported by Project Coordinators in-house.

    Position Overview

    The Construction Project Manager will oversee multiple commercial construction projects from preconstruction through completion. This role is primarily office-based in Sonora with regular travel to job sites throughout the Central Valley corridor.

    Project Managers work closely with field superintendents, project coordinators, and leadership to ensure projects are delivered on schedule, on budget, and to the highest quality standards.

    Key Responsibilities

    Project Management

    • Manage commercial construction projects from preconstruction through close-out

    • Develop and maintain project schedules across multiple active projects

    • Prepare and monitor project budgets and financial reporting

    • Lead the bid process including RFPs, subcontractor qualification, and contract preparation

    • Review and approve change orders, invoices, and pay applications

    • Conduct jobsite visits and support field teams as needed

    Design & Coordination

    • Review construction drawings and identify potential conflicts or errors

    • Coordinate with architects, engineers, and consultants throughout the project lifecycle

    • Lead value engineering discussions and ensure design intent is maintained

    Tenant & Client Coordination

    • Coordinate with national tenant design teams to ensure requirements are incorporated

    • Maintain strong relationships with tenants and project stakeholders

    • Support seamless project turnover and tenant occupancy

    Permitting & Close-Out

    • Manage the entitlement and permitting process with local authorities

    • Coordinate inspections and final approvals

    • Oversee project close-out and handoff to property management

    Qualifications

    • 7+ years of commercial construction project management experience

    • Experience with ground-up construction and tenant improvement projects

    • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications

    • Experience managing project budgets and schedules

    • Strong communication and relationship management skills

    • Highly organized with strong attention to detail

    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and project scheduling tools

    Preferred:

    • Retail or shopping center construction experience

    • Experience working for a developer or owner-builder

    • Familiarity with the Central Valley construction market

    Salary Range between $120,000-$160,000
