  • Responsibilities

    We’re partnering with a well-established infrastructure contractor to find an experienced Project Manager to lead high-impact underground and tunnel boring (TBM) projects across the Los Angeles and San Jose metro areas.

    This is a strategic leadership role suited for seasoned professionals in heavy civil construction, especially those with a background in complex tunnel and subsurface projects. You’ll oversee all phases of execution—from planning and staffing to delivery—while ensuring technical excellence, safety, and budget discipline.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Lead end-to-end project execution: planning, scheduling, staffing, budgeting, and safety compliance

    • Interpret project specs, goals, and contracts to set a clear project roadmap

    • Supervise and support project teams, assigning tasks and ensuring high productivity

    • Resolve construction challenges in collaboration with engineers and technical staff

    • Maintain consistent communication with executive leadership and key stakeholders

    • Manage JV partnerships and client relationships to align on project goals

    • Ensure full compliance with safety standards and regulatory guidelines

    • Travel to project sites as needed (local/regional); relocation assistance available

    Required Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field

    • 10+ years in heavy civil construction, with increasing responsibility

    • 5+ years in a leadership/project management role on large-scale projects

    • Proven experience in underground construction required

    • Tunnel Boring Machine (TBM) experience strongly preferred

    • Skilled in cross-functional leadership, team coordination, and project delivery

    • Strong communication and decision-making skills

    Work Environment

    • Hybrid field-office setup with frequent site visits

    • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs, work outdoors in varying conditions

    • Requires ability to travel regionally and communicate effectively in English
