    Job Description

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Our Project Management Consultants are insanely talented and are personally motivated to exceed expectations. As a Project Management Consultant, you will participate and lead efforts to define, plan, and complete important business and IT projects to achieve client objectives. You will:

    • Participate in project initiation activities to confirm project purpose, determine overall goals/objectives, project and product scope, assess resourcing needs and options, identify high level risks and alternatives, complete high-level scheduling, and estimate financial costs.
    • Lead project planning efforts to develop detailed project schedules, prepare detailed project resource plans and financial estimates, participate in vendor selection and contracting as needed, create kickoff decks, and lead kickoff meetings to set expectations with project stakeholders.
    • Manage project team members to ensure successful delivery of scope, maintain the project schedule, managing risks, actions, issues, and decisions via a central RAID Log, lead weekly checkpoints with project team members to discuss progress and resolve risks and issues, capture and distribute meeting notes, prepare and publish weekly dashboards to summarize current status, progress, planned activities, and critical risks, issues, and decisions.
    • Effectively close projects by ensuring that all deliverables have been produced and accepted, SOWs have been completed, lessons learned have been documented, project artifacts have been archived, and project resources have been released.

You communicate well with executives, project team members, vendor personnel, and technical resources.     MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

    • Must be eligible to work in the United States
    • Must possess a degree from an accredited, four-year college or university; advanced degrees and certificates/certifications are highly desirable (e.g. CAPM, PMP)
    • Must possess at least three years of relevant work experience as a project manager or project-based consultant working on business transformation and/or IT implementation projects; experience in biotech/pharmaceuticals is highly desirable
    • Must be able to accurately identify problems, determine options to address problems, identify pros and cons of potential options, recommend a solution
    • Communicate clearly (free of jargon), including communicating with remote stakeholders
    • Be thorough in your approach to your work, deliverables, and documentation of your work activities
    • Keep stakeholders sufficiently informed on your progress with initiatives or deliverables
    • Prioritize effectively by keeping your promises on your deadlines and offering fast turnaround when requested
    • Must possess mastery skill using Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
    • Must possess foundational skill using Microsoft Project with a willingness to develop mastery skill
    • Should be familiar with Microsoft Office 365, Visio, SharePoint, OneNote, and Skype
    • May live anywhere within the United States but strong preference will be given to those located in the San Diego, CA area or in one of the pharma/biotech hot spots: Greater San Francisco, Chicago, Boston, New Jersey, Philadelphia, or North Carolina
    • Must be willing to travel as needed (typically one week per month and primarily within the United States but also internationally)
    • Travel to the UK may be required
