    EHC is looking for a Project Safety Specialist in the Houston Area

    Department: Safety

    Reports To: Project Safety Manager / QSE Manager

    FLSA Status: Exempt

    Location: Project-based, nationwide travel required

    Position Summary

    The Project Safety Specialist is responsible for implementing and monitoring health, safety,

    and environmental (HSE) programs on active construction and industrial project sites. This

    role ensures compliance with the company's safety standards, as well as all

    client, local, state, and federal regulations.

    The Safety Specialist works collaboratively with field leadership to promote a proactive

    safety culture, provide training and oversight, and support continuous improvement across

    all project operations.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    • Conduct daily site inspections, safety walkthroughs, and hazard assessments to identify

    and mitigate potential risks.

    • Enforce compliance with MBA, client, and subcontractor safety policies and verify

    completion of permits, JSAs, and other required documentation.

    • Lead and document toolbox talks, tailgate meetings, and ongoing safety training

    sessions.

    • Maintain accurate and timely digital safety reports, forms, photos, permits, and logs.

    • Participate in incident investigations, assist with root cause analysis, and ensure

    corrective actions are implemented and tracked.

    • Support pre-task planning and coordination with project management to align field

    activities with safety standards.

    • Promote and reinforce a culture of safety awareness, accountability, and good

    housekeeping across all levels of the project team.

    • Maintain open communication with the Project Safety Manager regarding field

    observations, incident trends, and compliance concerns.

    Required Qualifications

    • Minimum of 3–5 years of construction or industrial safety experience.

    • OSHA 30-Hour Construction Certification (required).

    • Demonstrated knowledge of excavation, cranes/rigging, fall protection, confined space,

    and other common job site hazards.

    • Strong communication and leadership presence in the field.

    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and digital safety reporting tools.

    • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel and work on remote project sites.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • CHST, CSST, CSP, or other professional safety certifications.

    • First Aid/CPR/AED certification.

    • Experience working on industrial or renewable energy projects.

    Physical Requirements

    • Ability to stand, walk, climb, and remain active throughout the workday on construction

    sites.

    • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.

    • Work may be performed outdoors in varying weather conditions and terrain.
