    About the Role:

    The TDIP Project Scheduler shall report to the TDIP Program Schedular. The TDIP Project Scheduler shall be ultimately responsible for developing and maintaining detailed construction planning schedules for new construction and renovation work, as required for the Terminal Development & Improvement Program. These schedules may incorporate several scenarios used to finalize construction sequencing and contracting plans. These projects may include but are not limited to: Airline Terminal Improvement projects, Airport Service Improvement projects, Terminal Development projects and Asset Renewal.

    Participate as integral member of an owner’s program and project controls team, being directly responsible for scheduling multiple, interdependent projects of a large scale ($100m+ in value). Work collaboratively with other elements of the owner’s team, including project managers, construction managers, other controls discipline leads, and claims staff to monitor, report on, and negotiate issues on assigned projects. Review designer and contractor submitted schedules and perform analysis as needed.

    Provide owner with objective assessments of schedule delays (using Time Impact Analysis or other means), present summary and detailed findings to owner and/or third parties as needed. Engage in direct discussions with contractor, as needed, to understand basis of delay claims and support owner’s understanding of potential liabilities for the negotiation of appropriate settlements.

    Required:

    Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management or related field.

    10 years or more of scheduling experience with 5 plus years in direct support of an active construction project

    Advanced use of Oracle Primavera Software, along with related software tools such as Schedule Analyzer, Microsoft Project, Claims Digger, etc

    Representing an owner, direct experience scheduling multiple, interdependent projects

    Direct forensic scheduling experience to support claims analysis on large complex projects (projects of at least $200M value and 3-years or greater duration)

    Demonstrate understanding of design and construction methodologies and project life-cycles

    Essential Job Duties

    Review project schedule submittals by Design and Contractor Teams

    Perform independent analysis of submitted schedules for Owner, ensuring all schedule submittal meet or exceed the requirements set forth by the contracts. These independent analyses include, but are not limited to the review of:

    Preliminary schedules

    Baseline schedules

    Four week look ahead schedules

    Monthly schedule updates and corresponding recovery schedules/time impact analysis/time extension requests (as applicable)

    As-Built Project Schedules

    Facilitate coordination on interface issues between multiple projects

    Ensure submitted schedules follow LAWA project code and activity code structure

    Identify, understand and apply the relevant sections of the contract to each claim

    Performs complex schedule analysis and assists in identification of risks, interdependencies across projects, and claims management.

    Assist with change order and claims disputes

    Complete analyses of contractor’s delay claims and related time impact analyses within context of the contract documents and industry practice; examine the claim and actual schedule for later or earlier completion; identify related disruption, acceleration and recovery opportunities; and recommend apportionment of the delay and/or acceleration and any additional associated costs in accordance with applicable, accepted practices, such as AACE International issued Recommended Practice No. 29 Forensic Schedule Analysis (RP 29)

    Provide reports of analyses and briefing materials as required. Develop reports that effectively communicate complex project sequencing and/or forensic assessments

    As applicable to particular claims, provide observations on potential delay mitigation, related schedule issues, communicate to team and recommend alternatives, if any

    Develops and implements KPI’s

    Applies scheduling experience on large complex projects ($500+ million) throughout the project life cycle, including planning, design and construction

    Contribute to the advancement of LAWA’s goals through commitment to productive collaboration with all stakeholders

    Hardware/Software Knowledge

    Requires advanced use of Oracle Primavera software (mastery of Primavera Project Planner Version 6.0 or higher required), along with related software tools such as Schedule Analyzer, Microsoft Project, Claims Digger, etc.

    Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Bluebeam

    Professional Experience Level/Other Qualifications

    10 years or more of scheduling experience with 5 plus years of reporting (milestones, interdependencies, etc.) in direct support of an active construction program covering multiple projects and varying project delivery methods.

    Direct forensic scheduling experience to support claims analysis on large-scale, complex heavy civil, vertical and horizontal projects (projects of at least $200M value and 3-years or greater duration) particularly for assessment of delay claims and potential owner’s liabilities

    Experience with various delivery methods, including Design-Bid-Build, Design+CMAR and Design/Build

    Demonstrated experience scheduling for multiple concurrent and interrelated projects

    Ability to effectively communicate technical and schedule related information in oral and written form to non-expert audiences

    Ability to work collaboratively with other subject matter experts and resources to support owner’s evaluation of claims

    Demonstrated ability to understand technical and complicated construction program, contract and the ability to communicate progress and findings to both technical and management-level personnel

    Prior experience in aviation and large transportation projects, is highly desirable

    Proven accuracy, reliability and completeness in job accomplishment

    Education/Training

    Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or other related technical field required

    Relevant Professional Licensure & Certifications are strongly preferred

    LAWA will provide a desktop computer that can be VPN’d into

    Consultant MUST have a company-provided laptop computer. This is required for company business and to VPN into LAWA system when away from the office as necessary

    Cell phone provided by consultant is required

    This is NOT a work from home position

    This is a salaried position based on 40 hours per week at the applicable all-in labor rate.

    This is a Monday-Friday full-time position in the office or on the project site at LAX

    After hours or weekend work may be required to perform the duties of the position. This shall be considered part of the salary

    Transportation to/from LAX worksite is the responsibility of the consultant
