    DUTIES
    MANAGE THE PLANNING, SCHEDULING, COST, SAFETY, QUALITY AND TECHNICAL FIELD SUPPORT FOR THE INSTALLATION OFPROJECT AND MAINTENANCE WORK TO MEET OR EXCEED THE CUSTOMERS' EXPECTATIONS.

    1. Assists Field Managers in directing the actual construction of multiple capital projects to their overall successful completion and DOE satisfaction
    2. Serves as an electrical specialist of the project team and design review board for each project from inception to closeout and ensures the highest quality, most economical, timely, and practical design and construction product possible. Provides electrical specific
    3. Coordinates construction outage schedules, cost controls, priorities, and planning with project management and plant schedulers to achieve successful project implementation.
    4. Resolves quality control and quality assurance issues and recommends corrective action if necessary
    5. Coordinates with design engineering for scheduling of design outputs and provides design with necessary input to resolve design changes and improve constructability.
    6. Promotes increased productivity and safe work practices with the intent of maximizing use of resources and eliminating injuries.
    7. Fosters a "team concept" when interfacing with operations, DOE, other departments and divisions and attend scheduled and unscheduled meetings, provide reports, status on projects and identify, address and resolve problems.
    8. Reviews and approves job plans, permits, material requisitions for capital expenditures, schedules/schedule changes and miscellaneous other documents ensuring accuracy, practicality, economics, and impact on other projects.
    9. Manages a staff of personnel assigned to capital projects and maintenance orders and attending to their development, training, evaluations, career progression and problems.
    10. Identifies and acts on engineering and material restraints to critical jobs through meetings, discussions, reports and verifies that proper tools are in place to clear restraints. **

    Work Hours:** A 40-hour work week is scheduled. SRNS utilizes various work schedules including 5/8s (8 hour/day; five days per week), 4/l0's (10 hours/day; four days per week), and 9/80's (9 hours/day, five days on week AA and four days on week BB. Work week excludes SRNS holidays. Each workday has 30 minutes lunch. Overtime will be expected at times to meet deliverables and will be utilized at the discretion of the Manager. **

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE** **
    Education:** Bachelor's degree in engineering technical discipline and 8 - 10 years of practical electrical experience in construction or related areas. An associate's degree in an engineering technical discipline and 10 - 12 years of practical electrical experience would be considered equivalent. A high school diploma and 12 - 16 years of practical electrical experience would also be considered equivalent. ** _

    Experience/Skills:_** Substantial cumulative experience (in excess of eight years) and an in-depth knowledge of construction, safety, planning, ability to evaluate technical design data, develop and determine construction techniques and strategies. Manage multi-disciplined staff in a proactive value-added manner. The incumbent must also stay abreast of environmental regulations, pertinent industry developments and new Savannah River Site procedures through attending on site training and off site seminars.
    OTHER REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
    Area Security Access: Candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a DOE "Q" security clearance. An active DOE clearance is not initially required to perform assigned duties. After award, the selected candidate will be notified when to apply for a clearance based on specific work assignments.
    Candidate must possess all of the following experience and/or skills:
    1. Experience with electrical system installation/modification designed and constructed in accordance with national codes and standards, for example NFPA, NEC, among others.
    2. Ability to perform field walk-downs to document as-installed conditions and to inspect equipment condition.
    3. Knowledge of nuclear facility design including the application of safety class and safety significant codes and standards
    4. Ability to prepare/revise construction plans, develop schedules, monitor progress, monitor expenditures of budget and review quality of work performed.

    ** PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS**
    Candidates who have possessed an active DOE clearance (Lor Q) within the past two (2) years are preferred.

    Work Environment / Physical Demands:
    Work is performed in an office environment and requires the ability to operate standard office equipment and keyboards. Light to moderate lifting may be required for packages and other items, ability to walk short distances, may be regularly required to stand, sit, talk, hear, reach, stoop, kneel, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer, telephone, and keyboard.
