Department: Field Operations, Florida Reports To: Project Executive or Director of Construction
Position Overview
The Superintendent is responsible for leading on-site construction activities, ensuring projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This role requires strong leadership, coordination with subcontractors, and direct oversight of field operations.
Responsibilities
Oversee daily jobsite activities, ensuring subcontractor compliance with project plans, specifications, and schedules.
Develop and maintain the project schedule in collaboration with the Project Manager, ensuring milestones are met.
Lead daily huddles and weekly subcontractor coordination meetings, ensuring clear communication of expectations.
Enforce safety regulations, conduct site inspections, and ensure compliance with OSHA and company policies.
Maintain quality control by reviewing work in progress and implementing corrective actions as needed.
Track and document field progress, weather conditions, manpower, and material deliveries in daily reports.
Work with Assistant Superintendents and Field Engineers to resolve field conflicts and improve workflow efficiency.
Oversee jobsite logistics, ensuring proper material handling, storage, and site cleanliness.
Monitor subcontractor performance and provide direct feedback to maintain schedule adherence.
Support project closeout, ensuring punch list completion and readiness for final inspections.
Qualifications & Experience:
7–10 years of commercial construction experience, with at least 3+ years in a leadership role.
Strong knowledge of construction scheduling, subcontractor coordination, and jobsite safety.
Experience in managing mid-sized projects ($5M–$20M) or assisting on larger projects.
Proficiency in Procore, Bluebeam, P6/MS Project, and field reporting tools.
Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced field environment.
