    JOB SUMMARY

    The Assistant Superintendent’s responsibility includes assisting the Superintendent with the overall day-to-day supervision of field related construction activities for one or a small number construction projects. Responsibilities include: assisting with directing craft personnel and subcontractors; scheduling and sequencing the day to day activities of work; overseeing individual projects to assure compliance with the scope and quality as established by the contract documents; enforcement of site cleanliness and safety programs; proactively anticipating and solving problems that could delay construction; promoting and instilling Promontory Club values into the workforce; managing the permit and inspection process, physically inspecting projects to monitor progress and compliance with project standards. Ensuring that all projects are performed in accordance with contractual and quality standards. Pre-construction punch and Post warranty

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

    Pre closing punch and post warranty

    Assisting the project superintendent in managing and supervising all subcontractors

    Assisting in the processing of daily field reports, job photos, and invoices and forwarding them to accounting office

    Performing consistent quality-control checks

    Oversee all aspects of your assigned construction projects and ensure that work proceeds smoothly, on schedule and within required project specifications.

    Assisting the project superintendent in scheduling all day to day activities and maintaining a project schedule.

    Effectively communicating daily between Director of Construction, Superintendent, Team and Subcontractors

    Walking project and units for completion, generating and managing punch lists and ensuring work is completed in accordance with plans and in a timely manner.

    Promoting and maintaining a culture that values safety, health and cleanliness.

    Is deadline driven, punctual and respects other peoples time.

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:

    Is goal oriented and can react quickly to challenging circumstances to achieve the desired end results;

    Is proactive, plans well and addresses problems promptly;

    Is committed to doing quality work the first time with little or no need for re-work;

    Works to meet or beat schedules and is driven to bring closure to avoid long punch lists; EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE

    Ten years’ related construction experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience.

    Knowledge of building construction, means and methods, scheduling and cost control procedures, general contract, general conditions, subcontract, documents, drawings and specifications.

    Proven written and verbal communication abilities;

    Ability to read, understand and interpret contract documents, drawings, specifications, scopes of work and project schedule

    Demonstrated leadership and interpersonal skills. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS NECESSARY TO PERFORM THIS JOB

    Performance of the required duties will require physical ability to climb permanent and temporary stairs, passenger use of construction personnel hoists, ability to climb ladders and negotiate work areas under construction.

    Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

    Performing this job requires use of hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls, sit, talk and hear, stand, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

    Employee must occasionally lift and/or move heavy weight.

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works on-site at the construction work site where the employee is exposed to moving mechanical parts; high precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; outside weather conditions and risk of electrical shock.

    The noise in these work environments is usually moderate to very loud.
