JOB DESCRIPTION

Summary/Objective The Content Design and eLearning Specialist is a position within the Training department responsible for creating new product training materials and tools, updating, and editing existing product training content. The Content Design and eLearning Specialist will also be responsible for online learning tools (creation, deployment, and management) such as surveys, quizzes, and a Learning Management Systems (LMS). The ideal candidate has a proven track record in content creation, has managed multiple projects, and has a vast knowledge of signs and graphics.

Candidates must have the ability to produce high-quality eLearning solutions in a collaborative team environment. They should have knowledge of instructional design, graphic design, data gathering and analysis to measure project results, adult learning theory, best practices for eLearning, administering learning management systems (LMS), and a desire for continuous improvement of processes.

Essential Functions

Work with Subject Matter Experts to update and develop course content and structure.

Participate in department planning meetings and contribute to the department’s goals to ensure that the Training department is meeting the organization’s mission statement, value statement and annual strategic plan.

Keep up-to-date on the latest technology or other changes to maintain and update Training Tools for the FASTSIGNS network.

Create e-learning instruction to contribute to the University of FASTSIGNS on-line, as well as the Gamification Training Platform app.

Continuously build positive relationships with team members, other FASTSIGNS International departments, and center owners/employees through professional and proactive communication and partnering techniques.

Assist with special projects as assigned by the Director of Training, Senior Director of Education and New Centers, and the Chief Support and Development Officer.

Partner with departmental subject matter experts to develop and support their training needs.

Build relationships with business leaders across the organization to identify needs and opportunities to create content to support strategic growth.

Create engaging learning activities and course content for in-room and online curricula, and other programs as needed.

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, shredding and fax machines.

Classrooms may use solvent printers, solvent inks, laminators and similar sign production machinery.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee may be required to stand, walk, use ladders, use hands or fingers to handle or feel objects, and reach with hands and arms. The employee may also be required to lift up to 40 lbs.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position, and hours of work and days Monday through Friday, working between the hours of 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. typically. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

Travel

Occasional out of state travel is required as events and circumstances demand. Typically not more than 1 week per quarter.

Required Education and Experience

Minimum 3 years LMS program development experience.

Minimum 3 years of experience in Instructional Design/Development

Experience with implementing educational strategies for training adult learners

Proficiency in Captivate, Camtasia, Adobe Suite, and Google Workspace products

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience

Excellent organizational skills

Excellent verbal and written communications

Self-directed

Ability to manage multiple projects

Ability to meet deadlines and quality expectations

Additional Eligibility Qualifications

Previous FASTSIGNS center or other sign/printing experience is very beneficial.

Security Clearance (for travel)

Valid driver’s license is required for travel.
