    YOUR MISSION

    You are a seasoned copywriter who is looking to help drive the success of an early stage GIS analytics SaaS company through the power of content marketing. You are imaginative, creative, collaborative, and reliable with a passion for educating, informing, and persuading via the written word. You are an extraordinary communicator, are creative, able to meet deadlines, and have experience executing on a content calendar. 

    First and foremost, you're passionate about the craft of writing and are able to create content in a variety of voices and styles. You're an accomplished editor and hungry to take on a significant chunk of individual contributor work. You'll help us engage our prospects and customers and establish Propeller as a relevant thought leader through blog posts, case studies, ebooks, white papers, social media content, and internal/external emails. 

    You are a self-starter, love being part of an A+ marketing team, and can communicate ideas and concepts that serve both top-of-funnel as well as mid-funnel sales stages. Our target audience chooses our company's software product  based on technical accuracy, reliability and credibility so our content must reflect a certain level of technical acumen.

    As a key contributor to the content team, you'll partner closely with our Content Strategist, Digital Marketing Manager, and Product Marketers to help conceive and craft business-facing narratives across a variety of media.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Craft a variety of text-based content types - web content, copywriting for display ads, infographics data, blogs, events graphics text, case studies, video scripts, solution briefs, data sheets, emails, and social posts.

    • Serve as an editor, providing feedback on content created across the organization, ensuring that we exceed brand and voice expectations; proofread and check accuracy of articles and improve stories for appeal and SEO.

    • Work with Digital Marketing Manager to optimize content (especially blog posts) according to modern SEO standards.

    • Translate technical topics into narratives that clearly demonstrate Propeller's business value and conduct interviews with both internal and external SMEs to bolster those narratives. 

    • Support the Content Strategist to develop a master content calendar for the Marketing team.

    • Measure impact of content using analytics; recommend content types to support marketing efforts based on measurable data.

    • Work with Sales, Product and Marketing as needed to build content that supports campaigns.

    • Work with customers to create case studies and other content.

    • Stay up to date on industry trends to inform our content and campaigns.

    • Serve as our style guide steward to evolve existing guidelines alongside our brand, educate new hires on best practice, and enforce adherence to the guidelines in all communications.  

    • Manage version control of marketing materials that are subject to change, including pricing sheets, fact sheets, and website copy.

    TYPICAL QUALIFICATIONS

    • 3+ years of demonstrated work experience as a copywriter, editor, journalist, or similar role for a technical product or at least targeting a technically-savvy audience. This should entail B2B copywriting experience spanning across 2 or more industries
    • Eager to work with stakeholders (Content Strategist, Customer Success, Sales) to understand their needs and develop concepts and copy variations that represent the voice and language of Propeller
    • Familiarity with best practices for content distribution channels such as social media, email marketing, blog, LinkedIn, etc.
    • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
    • Excellent organizational, time management, and project management skills
    • Bachelor's degree in communications, journalism, or a relevant field

    BONUS POINTS FOR

    • Practical experience with SEMrush, Google Analytics, WordPress, and other content creation tools
    • Familiarity or experience with Marketing Automation Systems like HubSpot
    • Experience with SEO, or an understanding of the “why” behind SEO

    Pay range: $48,000 - $63,000 USD base
