    Job Description

    FINANCE ANALYST / ASSOCIATE 

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    The Financial Analyst role  will give you exposure to and experience in providing a variety of FP&A services to clients across Propeller's portfolio of more than 300 early stage Startup companies.  

    In collaboration with Propeller CFOs and Finance Directors, you will build detailed financial operating models, provide actual versus budget variance analysis and analyze data to optimize strategic decision-making.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Build and maintain detailed financial models for a variety of e-commerce, Consumer Product and software businesses, including P&L, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow forecasts 
    • Develop business performance reporting and custom financial & operating KPI dashboards; Report on KPIs on a monthly basis.  These will include revenue, COGS, inventory, customer analytics etc.
    • Work hand-in-hand with accounting team to review and cross-check monthly client financial performance 
    • Perform monthly variance analysis focused on actuals vs. budget, understand and explain the reasons for variances and update forecast accordingly
    • Proactively explore and help implement ways to improve accuracy and efficiency of current modeling processes
    • Work with Propeller finance leaders to find analytical and modeling projects outside of the normal budgeting and review process to add additional value

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Minimum of 1 - 3 years in finance-focused roles such as investment banking,  management consulting or FP&A role in-house at high-growth company
    • Great team player with strong work ethic
    • Extremely strong financial modeling and Excel skills
    • Comfort with data and ambiguity, and an ability to delve into details and adapt to shifting priorities
    • Good communication skills with the ability to distill complex thoughts and strategies into simple, actionable recommendations to Propeller team 
    • Ability to manage multiple client workstreams in an organized manner and respond to ad-hoc requests to support business decisions in timely and efficient manner
