  • Responsibilities

    Position Summary:

    We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Property Accountant to join our team. This role is responsible for managing the financial reporting and accounting for a portfolio of manufactured housing real estate assets. The ideal candidate will possess strong knowledge of property accounting practices, lease administration, and financial statement preparation.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close activities for assigned properties.
    • Prepare property tax and insurance reconciliations.
    • Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting to internal stakeholders and investors.
    • Support year-end audits and annual tax return preparation.
    • Assist with lender compliance reporting.
    • Ad-hoc projects as requested
    • Prepare property-level financial statements in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
    • Manage bank reconciliations, and journal entries.
    • Perform monthly account and subledger reconciliations, close packages, and variance analyses.
    • Review lease agreements and ensure accurate rent billing and lease compliance.
    • Develop and maintain detailed depreciation and amortization schedules.
    • Work closely with property managers, asset managers, and external auditors.
    • Assist in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and variance analysis.

    Skills & Qualifications:

    • 3+ years of experience in real estate accounting or property management accounting.
    • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
    • Knowledge of US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
    • Must have a strong academic foundation in financial accounting: journal entries, cash transactions and reconciliations, non-cash activity, and investor capital activity
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
    • Excellent analytical and organization skills
    • Proficiency with Yardi software preferred Ability to meet deadlines quickly and accurately, multi-task and work well under pressure with changing priorities
    • Team player and self-starter
    • Customer service driven
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, with emphasis on Excel skills
    • Maintain an environment of excellence and a “can do” culture

    Working Conditions:

    • No travel.
    • 2–3 days on-site per week; remaining days remote
