Municipality Building Department Permit Administrator and Coordinator

Work Days and Time: Monday thru Friday - 8 am to 5 pm
Location: Downtown Orlando Proper (Parking Provided)

Work Description:
This job encompasses applying for HVAC, Plumbing and Electrical building departments permits and working with various municipality building departments. Patience, common sense, and a little bid of backbone are much needed here.
Complete all permit packages to each municipality’s standards and guidelines, submit to specific municipality, coordinate to obtain and submit corrections.
On the job training is provided but candidate must be able to learn each of the municipalities requirements by researching online or calling the specific building department for guidelines and requirements. Some judgment (aka Common Sense) is needed in the application of specific departmental rules, regulations and procedures.
Candidate will track the permit workflow from application, to scheduling on site work inspections with municipality upon completion of work and ensure permits are closed out satisfactory.
Booking appointments with clients and Service Providers
Updating municipality building permit websites with job information
Permit Inspection Calendar Management
File Management (organizing files using Dropbox/Laserfiche, etc.)
Processing Building Permit Payments
General Data Entry
Skills:
Detail Oriented
Dependable
Show up to work on time
Work an 8 am to 5 pm schedule (but be flexible with end of times)
Excellent English speaking, reading and writing skills
Ability to follow detailed written and verbal instructions
Honesty and confidentiality are a must
Organized and capable of prioritizing workload
Self-Initiative and capable of working in a self-management environment
Quick learners and capable of being self-taught on new computer applications
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)
Basic Accounting knowledge is a plus
