  • Responsibilities

    A private family in Water Mill, NY is seeking an experienced and hands-on Property Manager to oversee the upkeep, maintenance, and operations of their home. This full-time position requires a flexible 5-day schedule, including weekends and occasional evenings as needed when the family is in residence. Responsibilities include day-to-day property management, supervising and executing maintenance and repair projects, managing residential construction, coordinating with existing staff, and ensuring both the interior and exterior of the estate are kept to the highest standards. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, technically skilled, and able to work independently as well as part of a team, with the flexibility to adapt to changing routines and priorities. A "no task too big or too small" attitude is essential. 

    Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

    • Maintaining the upkeep of the property including grounds, residence, pool, etc.
    • Single point of contact for principals for all household related-matters
    • Manage vendors, such as landscapers, groundskeepers, electricians, lighting specialists, and construction/upkeep projects
    • Detailed, daily organization and maintenance, inside and out; plumbing, electrical, HVAC, A/V equipment, appliances etc.
    • Regular daily checks throughout property to make sure household is running seamlessly, identifying potential issues and offering solutions
    • Ensure routine services and maintenance are being performed as contracted, and are completed in time for the appropriate season
    • Maintenance of landscaping, lighting, and speakers
    • Winterizing the home for the off-season
    • Routine checks of all properties during the winter months
    • Maintaining household inventory and procurement
    • Additional Property Management responsibilities as requested

    Requirements:

    • Minimum 5 – 7+ years related experience working in a similar position(s) with a private family
    • Strong command of English language; both written and verbal communication
    • Excellent references required from both current and previous employers
    • Exceptional organizational skills and dedication to responsibilities; above and beyond attitude with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
    • Detail oriented, proactive and self-directed with exceptional follow through
    • Flexibility in scheduling with willingness and ability to work long hours and weekends as needed
    • Must have experience working in fast-paced environments where the utmost discretion and confidentiality are required
    • Excellent computer skills with proficiency in both Mac & PC operating systems, as well as like technology
    • Self-starter mentality with ability to maintain year-round productivity
    • Possess knowledge in home maintenance, including light carpentry, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, lawn & landscaping, lighting, audio/video, pool
    • Familiarity with home systems, including a wide range of technology systems (knowledge in Crestron is a plus)
    • Service-minded, able to adhere to the Principals’ needs and requirements
    • Great judgment and a keen ability to proactively think ahead, while providing exceptional client service and with a “no task is too small” attitude
    • Valid Driver’s License; confident driver with zero points; car not required
    • Authorized to work within the United States
  • Compensation
    $130,000-$145,000 per year
