    Job SummaryWe are seeking a professional and caring Psychiatrist or Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner to join our team!

    Responsibilities

    Clinical Duties:

    Evaluates patients by interviewing patient, family, and other persons, which include conducting an initial assessment, observing behaviors, reviewing medical history and related documents, and evaluating results of previously implemented medical and/or psychiatric tests.

    Develops psychiatric treatment plans by determining nature and extent of cognitive, emotional, developmental, social, and behavioral disorders; establishing treatment goals and methodologies.

    Treats patients using psychotherapeutic methods and psychotropic medications, discussing progress toward goals, providing instructions, and monitoring the effect of medications.

    Performs medical tests including taking vital signs (i.e. blood pressure, heart rate, weight, height, calculating BMI/IBW) and ordering medical tests (i.e. labs, EKG) as needed.

    Collaborates with the facility's interdisciplinary treatment team via attendance to weekly team meetings and manages client cases with outside providers as needed.

    Discusses and educates patients and facility providers regarding the connection between eating disorders and the biological and physiological effects on the body.

    Conducts medical services congruent with the facility’s treatment culture which stands to maintain safety and quality of care.

    Maintains appropriate documentation of patient services including assessments, progress notes, and treatment plans.

    Qualifications

    MD or DO from an accredited US-based medical school or Certification as a PMHNP

    Current medical license and certification from the American Board of Medical Specialists (ABMS)

    Deep knowledge of various psychotherapeutic methods

    Strong communication and interpersonal skills

    Ability to explain complex medical concepts in an easy-to-understand manner

    Excellent observational and assessment skills
