POSITION TITLE: Software Engineer POSITION DESCRIPTION: Protingent has an exciting contract opportunity with our client in San Jose, California. JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• Design and development of applications that include  sensor interfaces, serial and Ethernet communications, graphical simulation, GUIs
• Maintain and generate software documentation (e.g. UML models, process flow, code comments)
• Gather design requirements from internal and external customers
• Testing and troubleshooting of existing systems
  • Ability to manage time between multiple projects and changing priorities
• Travel to customer sites upon occasion

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’ s degree or equivalent experience in Software or Robotics related field required

• Experience using C#, WPF, .NET and Visual Studio

• Experience using C++, Python, and Javascript 

• Experience using version control software

• Object oriented design skills / software architecture

• Understanding of multi-threaded software

  • Demonstrated ability with SQL Databases
  • Knowledge of automation components such as motors, displays, sensors, control systems

• Strong computer skills

• Ability to setup requisite software tools and environment

• Experience with programming motion control and robotics on physical devices

• Mechanical and electrical aptitude

  • Excellent communication skills, written as well as oral
