    Job Description

    JOB DESCRIPTION

    As materials management and customer service leader, you will head PPG’s planning, scheduling, and material management capabilities for your assigned customers. 

    You will control and streamline the flow of raw ingredients into production of finished goods, including but not limited to inventory control, production sequencing, demand planning, and forecasting capacity/shifts. You will also be responsible for continuous improvement initiatives in functional areas of inventory and non-inventory management, planning processes.

    YOU WILL FOR YOUR ASSIGNED CUSTOMERS …

    • Act as the primary point of contact for demand planning and procurement, and responsible for all escalation issues related to inventory, materials management, and planning.
    • Create weekly and 13-week production plans.
    • Drive strategic planning and forecasting for production.
    • Define operational goals for weekly schedules.
    • Verify real-time accuracy of plan and data on production dashboards.
    • Perform reconciliation and adjustment to work-in-process inventory.
    • Support change initiatives related to planning, materials management, and inventory practices.
    • Maintain constant communication with production teams on schedules, inventory, and planning matters.
    • Maintain an accurate inventory positions and execution of inventory practices.
    • Perform data analysis to analyze performance and drive process improvement.
    • Manage on-time delivery and fulfillment of customer orders.
    • Conduct weekly inventory analysis to solve inventory problems and optimization.
    • Develop and implement inventory control procedures.
    • Coordinate and manage weekly physical cycle counts with inventory associates.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.

    AT A MINIMUM, YOU HAVE …

    • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Business or other applicable field of study or at least 4+ years’ experience in materials and planning management for production and/or manufacturing environments required. Advanced degree preferred.
    • Must be proficient with computer hardware and software. Advanced skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint required. Experience with Google Sheets and Suite preferred. Some scripting experience strongly desired, but not required.
