    Job Description

    JOB SUMMARY

    This role will coordinate the employee safety programs for the company. Partnering with department leaders to ensure all required safety training is complete timely, and meeting all customer, regulatory, OSHA, and SQF (Safety/Quality/Food) requirements. The foundation of this role is scheduling, communicating, leading, and tracking safety training however would be expected to grow in the role and recommend and implement program improvements.

    JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Lead Monthly Safety Committee Meetings

    • Coordinate with departments to track and ensure completion of monthly safety training

    • Maintains training documentation, safety committee minutes, and inspections

    • Conduct safety facility audits and present findings to leadership

    • Track all safety incidents and suggest preventative measure/training

    • Conduct Risk Assessments, Job Hazards Analysis and Safe Behavior Observations

    • Train Supervisors on incident prevention and investigations

    • Communicate Safety Incidents, Property Damage, Near Misses and First-Aid.

    • Coordinate and set handling procedures for hazardous waste, on-site storage, recycling program.

    • Maintain and update Life Safety Equipment (AED, eye wash stations, Fire Extinguishers and First Aid)

    CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS(Knowledge / Skills / Ability)

    • Bi-lingual: English & Spanish (Required)

    • Ideal candidate should be able to work Mid-Shift to cover 1st & 2nd Shift

    • 3-5 years of experience in Food Manufacturing - safety regulations and standards

    • Safety certification (OSHA 30, Certified Safety Professional, Associate Safety Professional)

    • Experience in leading safety training

    • Knowledge of OSHA, EPA regulations

    • Microsoft Office – Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook

    • Great written/verbal communication skills
