Providence Staffing’s education client is seeking a Child Nutrition Program Assistant in the Greater Birmingham, AL area. This position will be responsible for preparing and serving food items to students in the district. The typical schedule will be normal business hours during the school year.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Arranges food, condiments and supplies for the purpose of maintaining adequate quantities and security of items.
• Assists student workers for the purpose of ensuring a safe and efficient work environment as well as providing role modeling.
• Assist in monitoring food items (temperature, correct portion, ect.) for the purpose of verifying quantity, quality, and specifications of orders to meet preparation requirements and/or complying mandated health standards.
• Cleans kitchen and cafeteria areas for the purpose of ensuring a safe and sanitary working environment.
• Cleans utensils, equipment, storage food preparation and serving areas for the purpose of maintaining required sanitary conditions.
• Maintains equipment, storage, food preparation and serving areas in a sanitary condition for the purpose of complying with current health standards.
• Participates in department meetings, in-service training’s, workshops, etc. as required for the purpose of gathering information required to perform job duties.
• Reports equipment malfunctions for the purpose of maintaining equipment in safe working order.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications and Educations Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Safety and sanitation practices for food preparation, presentation, and distribution.
• Personal sanitation and hygiene regulations
• Customer service and public relations methods and practices.
• Following verbal and written instructions and procedures, and following safety standards.
• Must be able to pass background check and drug screening.

Compensation:

The compensation range for this position starts at $15 per hour. This is a temp-to-perm position.
