Providence Staffing's client in the construction industry is actively seeking a Civil Project Manager for projects in and around the Greater Birmingham, AL area. This role is integral to overseeing various aspects of civil construction projects. The position requires up to 100% travel, and candidates must be willing to use their own vehicles, for which mileage reimbursement will be provided.
Key Responsibilities:
\- Collaborate closely with Division Management during construction phases.
\- Read, understand, and interpret construction plans and specifications.
\- Mentor and guide less experienced team members in effective project management.
\- Oversee project schedules, including monitoring progress and providing updates.
\- Manage both financial and technical aspects of projects.
\- Identify potential issues during the estimating process and propose solutions.
\- Build and maintain relationships with owners, architects, engineers, and subcontractors for future project opportunities.
\- Address and resolve conflicts or errors in project drawings and specifications.
\- Handle Submittals, RFI's, Change Order Proposals, Owner Billings, and other project-related documentation.
\- Ensure accurate and timely Owner Billings and subcontractor/vendor billings.
\- Produce accurate monthly cost projections and forecasts.
\- Engage in bid procurement, negotiating with subcontractors and vendors.
\- Generate and analyze production reports, summarizing information and trends.
\- Maintain and advance professional and technical knowledge through workshops, publications, networks, and professional societies.
\- Contribute to the team's success by achieving related results as needed.
Qualifications and Education Requirements:
\- Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
\- 5-10 years of experience in heavy civil construction.
\- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
\- Ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.
\- Proficiency in Microsoft products, Bluebeam (preferred), and AutoCAD (a plus).
\- PMP Certification is preferred.
Compensation:
The salary range for this position is between $95,000 and $135,000 per year, along with a comprehensive benefits package.
