    Summary:

    We are seeking Geotechnical Engineers with a background in water resources engineering for an award-winning, ranked leader in the Geotechnical, Environmental, Water Resources, Civil Design, and Construction Services consulting space.

    Responsibilities:

    • Collaborate across multiple practices to address the country’s most complex water infrastructure challenges.
    • Project management and technical lead for geotechnical engineering tasks including design and remediation of dams and levees; geotechnical instrumentation; geotechnical investigations and design for major water infrastructure, bridge, and waterfront projects
    • Prepare technical scopes of work for proposals and projects, project budgets, requests for proposals for contractors, and technical reports
    • Plan, coordinate, direct, and supervise design or evaluation teams in the design or evaluation of water infrastructure projects including dams and their appurtenant structures such as spillways, outlet works and hydroelectric facilities
    • Provide technical input and oversight in one or more of the following areas: structural design and evaluation of concrete hydraulic structures; embankment dam design; hydrologic, hydraulics, geotechnical, seismologic engineering; hydroelectric equipment selection and analysis
    • Resolve complex challenging issues to benefit our clients
    • Lead proposal teams and presentations
    • Lead and participate on multi-disciplinary, multi-geographic project teams
    • Maintain high visibility in the marketplace through regular client contact, participation in client-based professional organizations, and attendance and presentations at industry events
    • Manage projects and staff, including technical leadership and oversight, risk management, and mentoring
    • Assist in recruiting and training additional staff
    • This position has a field component; travel and some overnight travel are required

    Required Skills and Experience:

    • Minimum of B.S. degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering or related field. M.S. preferred.
    • PE (Professional Engineer) certification is required
    • 6+ years of previous professional experience in geotechnical engineering; significant Project Management experience, including proposal preparation and budgeting; thorough knowledge of state and federal regulations; proven business development skills
    • Strong Water Resources experience, Dams & Levees a big plus
    • Extensive geotechnical background including a strong fundamental knowledge of principles of geotechnical or geostructural engineering, soil and rock mechanics, earthquake engineering, and groundwater hydrology
    • Willingness and ability to travel on short-term assignments as needed
    • Willingness and ability to perform field tasks and oversight
    • Valid U.S. driver’s license
    • Strong technical and business development expertise
