Summary:

We are seeking a Sales Engineer with a background in Plastic Injection Molding for a fast-growing plastics company in Syracuse, NY.

As the ideal candidate, you will have a technical orientation, diploma, college degree in engineering, or equivalent combination of training and experience. Your career has probably been with an employer with diverse clients, preferably in plastic injection molding or similar products. You have developed a reputation as the in-the-field technical sales expert, a self-starter, an excellent communicator, listener, problem-solver, and polished presenter with above-average analytical ability, excellent organizational skills, and strong business acumen with a keen sense of market trends. You possess superior technical software computer skills including proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities:

• Sell and upsell technical aspects of the products from an engineering perspective

• Account management and new business development

• Work directly with the internal manufacturing team

• Work directly with external manufacturing teams

• Manage a Manufacturing Rep. vendor

• Calling on the injection molding, extrusion, blow molding, polymers or blown film industries

• Prepare sales quotations and proposals

• Develop equipment cost analysis for elements of proposals

• Process orders provide information to order entry process, coordinate engineering design and machine build progress of Plastic Extrusion Machine and parts, check machine completion and status, support installation and test of machine in customers plant.

• Advice and support sales and customers in the selection of the correct equipment for specific applications

• Relay confirmed ship dates to sales

• Help in the development of sales tools and processes

• Provide technical support and direction for existing product lines

Required Skills and Experience:

• Degree in Engineering, or equivalent technical capabilities

• 5+ years of experience as a Sales Engineer in the Plastics Injection Molding (or very similar) space

• Experience with HPDE, LDPE, LLDPE, Polyethylene, Polypropylene, Thermoplastics or Polyolefins

• Proven experience increasing revenues

• Small company experience preferred
