    Summary:

    Our client is currently hiring for a Quality Manager to work at their California location. The Quality Manager plans and directs activities concerned with developing, applying and maintaining quality standards for all products produced. Must be able to resolve issues, develop a robust corrective and preventive action system, manage and contain non-conforming products, track quality data, and interface with customers directly.

    Responsibilities:

    • Implement and sustain a Quality Management System that assures compliance to all applicable laws, regulations and contractual obligations.

    • Devises sampling procedures and designs, and develops forms and instructions for recording, evaluating and reporting quality and reliability data.

    • Develops and implements methods and procedures for disposition of non-conforming material, and devises methods to assess cost and responsibility.

    • Directs team engaged in measuring and testing product and tabulating data concerning materials, product, or process quality and reliability.

    • Interfaces with purchasing, engineering, manufacturing, customers, and vendors to coordinate and resolve quality-related issues.

    • Provides status reports describing progress and concerns related to inspection activities, nonconforming items, and/or other items related to the quality of the process, material or product.

    • Maintains a working knowledge of the latest quality standards.

    • Recognize, develop, and implement opportunities for continual improvement of the department’s quality capability.

    • Provides assistance to engineering, manufacturing and purchasing to ensure organizational compliance to customer contractual and regulatory requirements.

    • Leads the organization in all Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) activities with customers. Also leads corrective actions procedures internally.

    • Track Quality Performance Metrics.

    • Participates in the development and execution of the department’s overall goals and objectives.

    • Keeps area clean according to 5S standards.

    • Follows all safety rules as set by the company.

    Required skills and Experience

    • A Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university in a professional engineering discipline; five years’ experience in Quality Assurance leadership in an Aerospace and Defense business; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

    • A working knowledge of aerospace quality practices including both regulatory and industry standards including, AS9100 Rev D quality system.

    • Working knowledge of FAA Part 145 Repair Station regulations.

    • Strong problem-solving skills, and proficient use of common Quality methodologies such as Root Cause Analysis and Corrective Action.

    • Ability to read and understand complex blueprints, technical packages and specifications.
