Our award-winning client is a stable, growing company seeking electronic design engineers for their Long Island NY facility. The company is well-established and has a strong product portfolio in the electronics space, providing high-reliability communications, networking, and power solutions for aerospace, defense, industrial, and space applications. New technologies are being developed for their customer base in the US and internationally.
Responsibilities:
Product specifications and architecture.
Designing and developing innovative hardware and software.
Planning and scheduling.
Project management.
Mentoring, continuous improvement, etc.
Required Qualifications:
BS degree in a technical discipline; MS is preferred.
Over 15 years of relevant work experience.
Experience working with multi-site, and international project teams.
Leadership design skills in technical disciplines such as analog circuit, digital circuit, software, and/or system design.
Demonstrate ability to develop, articulate and present technical information appropriately targeted to meet the needs of audiences at all levels.
Develop technical strategies coordinated with Marketing and/or Sales.
Conduct field or outside lab tests and evaluations.
Perform CCA design specifying mixed-signal technology circuits consisting of processors, I/O communications, and programmable logic devices (FPGA, CPLD).
Strong RTL coding/simulation/debug capabilities using VHDL and/or Verilog (VHDL preferred).
Experience with RTL simulation, Synthesis, and Static Timing Analysis in one or more of the following toolsets: Xilinx Vivado, Altera/Intel Quartus, Lattice Diamond, and Microsemi Libero.
Familiarity with multiple networking protocols including PCIe, 1G/10G Ethernet, Fibre Channel, 1553, 1394.
Strong skills and experience in troubleshooting hardware issues using software and hardware tools.
Software/hardware design experience in high Speed Networking, including IEEE 802.1Q Ethernet switching, TCP/IP protocols, and VLANs.
Experience with MIL-STD-1553, Fibre Channel, ARINC-429, and DO-254 is highly desirable.
