    Summary:

    We are seeking a strong Process Engineer who will be responsible for the design and implementation of manufacturing processes involved in the manufacture of our client’s blown film products, inclusive of new product and market offerings.

    Responsibilities:

    • Develop plant process improvement programs that improve consistency and control of current manufacturing processes, focusing on minimizing scrap rates, improving line efficiencies and reducing downtime
    • Develop and foster operational discipline in our processes.
    • Provide technical training for operating personnel, including training on resins, extrusion, winding, etc.
    • Investigations of new methods to improve plant performance including equipment, statistical tools, troubleshooting methods, etc.
    • Determines priorities, implements assigned projects and maintains detailed documentation as required.
    • Stays informed concerning new manufacturing technology and equipment, and investigates their potential application.
    • Develops control procedures and trains personnel on the same.
    • Responsible for promoting safety awareness and keeping safety as a high priority on a daily basis
    • Continual search for cost reduction opportunities.
    • Develop and implement long term goals to maintain and increase efficiencies.

    Qualifications:

    • Four-year degree in relevant field (chemistry, polymer science or engineering) or relevant experience
    • 2-3 plus years of experience in blown film extrusion manufacturing
    • Flexo printing, lamination, and converting experience is a plus
    • Strong analytical, numerical, statistical, computer and reasoning skills
    • Good understanding of "Lean Manufacturing", 5S, Six Sigma, TPM programs
    • Ability to work hands-on with operations to troubleshoot process problems related to web handling, winding, tension control, and coatings
    • Strong team orientation, as well as ability to work on and manage smaller tasks and projects independently
    • Technical skills – experience working in a laboratory environment, quality standards
    • Analytical skills – ability to gather, review and interpret data and share that data with cross-functional team members
    • Communication – ability to share technical expertise and knowledge with internal team members and external customers in order to communicate product attributes and develop and improve new product offerings
    • Results oriented and able to handle multiple projects
    • Positive and energetic individual that has the ability to work well with all levels of an organization; must be able to get along well with others and willing to work long hours when needed
    • Excellent organization skills and attention to detail
    • Excellent communication skills – both written and oral
    • Ability to work effectively and lead in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
    • Microsoft Office applications – MS Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint
    • Knowledge/use of ERP systems
    • Bilingual (Spanish) a plus
