Summary:
We are seeking a Project Engineering Team Lead with a Chemical or Petrochemical background for an award-winning (for culture and performance), state of the art Chemical Manufacturer, specifically in the Industrial Catalyst space.
Responsibilities:
- Provides mentoring and professional development for the Project Engineers in their team
- Allocates project engineering resources to achieve goals and priorities
- Establishes the methodologies, tools, standards, and operating GPM for project engineering Maintains the prioritized portfolio of current and potential projects
- Investigates new technologies for project engineering improvements
- Serves as a working leader with direct accountability for providing project engineering
- Maintains over-all understanding of process capability & capacity
- Manages strategic and maintenance capital projects
- Is process / area knowledgeable and capable of executing projects to defined requirements
- Responsible for Project Engineers
- Ensures contractors and vendors understand job scope and expectations
- Updates Project Engineering Log and Electronic Engineering Folders
- Participates in safety programs and initiatives
- Supports & facilitates RCAs
- Supports the training of site personnel
- Initiate Management of Change (MOCs)
- Initiate Process Hazard Analysis (PHAs) including HAZOP/LOPA
- Initiate Commissioning and Startup Activities
- Initiate daily plant inspections and walkthroughs
- Support Purchasing/GRs/New Vendors/Requisitions
- Manage and catalog engineering documents and drawings
- Manage process information and updates for P&ID, MOC, Interlock Schedule, etc.
- Assists with emergencies
- Conducts data sourcing and analysis
Required Skills and Experience:
- 5+ years site project management with small project team oversight
- 5+ years in a chemical manufacturing environment
- Experience managing 2-5 direct reports
- Experience with budgets up to $500k range
- Small project experience
- Effective communicator
- Knowledge about Maintenance, reliability, & EHS in a Chemical or Petro Chemical environment
- Chemical Engineer or Mechanical Engineer degree preferred
