    Summary:

    We are seeking a strong Sr. Tax Manager with a background working with High and Ultra High Net Worth clientele for a top tier, award winning private bank. A family office or multi family office background is applicable.

    Responsibilities:

    This role will be responsible for providing advanced support to the management and planning of the tax function for a group of closely held entities and its owners. This position will report to the Director of Taxation and will work closely with the Director of Tax Research and the Director of Tax Compliance.

    • Assistance with providing advanced tax management support to a family group and their investments that generally include
    • wholly owned operating businesses in the industries of banking, insurance, construction, real estate and energy; and
    • private equity passive business investments.
    • Review tax returns for accuracy and identify opportunities to minimize tax obligations.
    • Provide the bank and insurance companies transactional consulting tax advice and participate in tax planning matters.
    • Will include review and input related to other tax department member’s transactional consulting tax advice.
    • Ensure procedures and requirements are being followed by functional areas on tax compliance-related matters.
    • Involvement in monitoring of federal, state, and local tax developments for compliance and planning purposes.
    • Assistance with managing and maintaining strong working relationships and communications with outside tax advisors.

    Required Skills and Experience:

    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting
    • Certified Public Accountant (CPA), or currently tracking toward completion
    • 4+ years of public accounting experience with a focus in federal taxation of corporate (C corp. and S corp.), partnership, international, individual, gift estate, trust, and private foundations
    • High and/or Ultra High Net Worth clientele experience required
    • Experience in state and local taxation and federal informational reporting is also preferred
    • Demonstrated accomplishments and expertise in tax concepts, practices and procedures
    • Proven leadership skills evidenced by progressively increasing management responsibilities
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including ability to translate highly complex tax matters into actionable information
    • Strong tax research skills
    • Strong analytical skills
    • Detail-oriented, self-motivated and able to prioritize tasks
    • Proficient in Excel, Word and various tax-related computer applications
    • Ability to analyze and apply technical tax information to activities of the organization and its affiliates
    • Masters in Taxation a plus
