Summary:
Our award-winning client is seeking an Acoustic Scientist to join their team. We're seeking a highly motivated Ph.D.-level scientist (Acoustics, Mechanical Engineering, or Electrical Engineering) with 3-15 years of experience to join our team in Concord, MA, or Groton, CT.
Responsibilities:
- In this exciting role, you'll collaborate with a diverse team of experts to investigate and develop solutions for multi-physics problems related to national security.
- You'll utilize your expertise in modeling and analysis of structural and underwater acoustics, including wave propagation, scattering and radiation, signal processing, and array processing.
- Your responsibilities will encompass developing numerical and analytical models, supporting test design and execution, analyzing complex data sets, and designing tools for acoustic performance modeling.
Required Qualifications:
- PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Ocean Engineering, Applied Mathematics, or Applied Physics (minimum).
- 3-15 years of experience in a related engineering field (preferred).
- Strong understanding of acoustic propagation, scattering, signal processing, and array processing.
- Solid foundation in finite element analysis, solid mechanics, and applied mathematics.
- Proficiency in MATLAB, with some Python experience a plus.
- Prior experience with acoustic testing and data analysis is a benefit.
- Experience with control system design and analysis is advantageous (not required).
- US Citizenship/Clearance required.
