Summary:

Our award-winning client is seeking a Product Engineer to join their team.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, test and release steering wheels.

• Establish technical requirement documents.

• Work with model shop and suppliers to fabricate and assemble prototype parts.

• Utilize DFMEA’s to lead development process.

• Develop and execute test and validation plans.

• Interface with customers to qualify and release product.

• Conduct regular peer and design reviews.

• Lead problem-solving and continuous-improvement activities.

• Manage Bill Of Materials documenting component costs.

• Work with Supply Chain Management to identify and source suppliers.

• Interface with Manufacturing Engineering to develop production processes/controls.

• Lead development team by delegating work and prioritizing tasks.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Eng. or Mechanical Eng. Technology degree required.

• Minimum 5 years of product development experience with steering wheels.

• Proficient in 3D modeling preferred.

• Strong problem solving skills – Six Sigma preferred.

• Proficient in GD&T and Tolerance Stack Analysis.

• Experience using DFMEA’s to drive design and validation requirements.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Experience as a team-lead required; supervisory experience preferred.
