    Summary:

    Our award winning client is currently hiring for a Legal Assistant to work in their Florida office. The ideal candidate would be incredibly organized, detailed-oriented and tech savvy, who understands that doing the small things well has a big impact for our clients. This team member would be flexible to learn and take on new responsibilities as the firm grows and as their skills develop.

    Responsibilities:

    • Reviewing and analyzing financial, legal and tax documents
    • Preparing simple, easily understood and actionable correspondence
    • Effectively manage various projects simultaneously, pursue matters to completion with minimal supervision or direction, and take initiative to improve processes
    • Calendaring/docketing management for all active matters, coordinating necessary internal and external stakeholders, managing deadlines, and client calls/meetings
    • Preparing summaries and presentations
    • Researching local and state statutes, treasury and tax court rulings
    • Researching public and private investments and reviewing associated documentation

    Required Skills and Experience:

    • High Net Worth and/or Ultra High Net Worth clientele experience
    • Registered Investment Advisor, Wealth Management, or Family Office experience highly preferred
    • College degree and paralegal certificate or equivalent
    • Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a paralegal with a law firm or financial institution, specializing in the areas of corporate, trust and tax law.
    • Experience in preparation of federal estate tax returns
    • Experience in preparation of federal gift tax returns preferred
    • Ability to draft / prepare tax forms, including but not limited to federal forms 56, 706, 709, 2848, as well as applicable local property tax and documentary transfer tax forms.
    • Notary or willingness to become notary preferred
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong problem-solving skills
    • Working knowledge of estate accounting and tax computer software/systems
    • Ability to adapt to change and balance competing demands while working in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
    • Willingness to obtain additional professional licenses and designations as required by the company
    • Avid reader with and endless desire to learn and expand professionally

    Other Skills:

    • Ability to work independently and take initiative
    • Ability to maintain highest level of confidentiality and provide outstanding customer service to internal and external clients/contacts
    • Knowledge of estate, trust, tax and corporate law terminology and related documents
    • Prepare and understand estate and trust accounts as well as other financial reports
    • Compose and disseminate correspondence as required
    • Strong attention to detail and great organizational skills
    • Be genuinely interested and passionate for helping people manage and grow their wealth
