  • Responsibilities

    Summary:

    The Project Engineer coordinates, and exercises functional authority for planning, organization, control, integration, and completion of engineering project within area of assigned responsibility by performing the following duties.

    Responsibilities:

    • Plans and formulates engineering program and organizes project staff according to project requirements.
    • Assigns project personnel to specific phases or aspects of project such as technical studies, product design, preparation of specifications and technical plans, and product testing.
    • Reviews product design for compliance with engineering principles, company standards and customer contract requirements, and related specifications.
    • Coordinates activities concerned with technical developments, scheduling, and resolving engineering design and test problems.
    • Directs integration of technical activities and products.
    • Evaluates and approves design changes, specifications and drawing releases.
    • Prepares interim and completion project reports.
    • Keeps area clean according to 5S standards.
    • Follows all safety rules as set by the company.

    Supervisory Responsibilities:

    • May supervise project employees in the Engineering and Test Departments depending on project.
    • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work.

    Qualifications:

    A Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from four-year college or university; seven to ten years hydraulic component and systems design and development experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

    • Knowledge as defined by BSME.
    • Above average oral and written communication skills.
    • Excellent computer skills in a Microsoft Windows environment; strong PC skills with ability to predict and define new hardware and software.
    • Excellent organizational skills.
