    SUMMARY:

    Our client, a global leader in premium automotive aftermarket parts is seeking a Director of Technical Accounting. Under the direct supervision of the Chief Accounting Officer, this position is responsible for all Technical Accounting aspects and how they are incorporated into company policies.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    This role manages three subordinate staff members. Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the business unit. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization & policies and applicable laws. Duties include: interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Additional duties include:

    • Manages the process of new pronouncement implementation with external auditors and internal audit department ensuring full compliance
    • Prepares summaries on new standards and pro-forma disclosures to be dispersed to all appropriate individuals
    • Ensures compliance of company’s policies, procedures and corporate governance with GAAP and SEC regulations
    • Provides support on the evaluation of potential alliances, acquisitions, mergers and other issues affecting business
    • Meets with the Audit Committee of the Board of Directors, when required
    • Recommends and develops policies and procedures to meet company objectives
    • Confers with other senior administrative personnel to review achievements and discuss required changes in goals or objectives resulting from current status and conditions

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    • 7+ years of experience with a publicly traded (or large private) company
    • 3+ years of Manufacturing industry experience
    • Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
    • Big 4 experience (or very similar)
    • Management and leadership skills
    • Thorough knowledge of GAAP
    • Inventory software experience
    • Order processing systems experience
    • Manufacturing software (QAD) experience
    • Contract Management systems
    • Extensive knowledge of Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and Outlook)
