    Summary:

    Our award-winning client is seeking a Systems Engineer to join their team. Our client is an established electronics company on Long Island is starting new projects and going through a growth phase. They are actively seeking candidates for several key positions in electronic hardware design, software development, mechanical engineering, test engineering, project engineering, systems engineering, etc., including the position below.     Qualified candidates will have strong technical and project management skills. Experience with databases or other high-reliability electronics and software communications products is preferred.

    Responsibilities:


    • Overseeing the development and installation of new networking and computing infrastructures.

    • Selecting the best possible solutions using knowledge of a wide range of available technologies.

    • Monitoring systems in the existing network to ensure there are no productivity set-backs.

    • Installing and configuring operating systems and application software.

    • Implementing best practices for system security and data backups.

    • Anticipating potential issues or bottlenecks and identifying possible solutions.

    • Troubleshooting and resolving all technical issues when they arise.

    • Communicating effectively with IT support staff to ensure the setup process runs smoothly.

    • Liaising with vendors and keeping relevant stakeholders up to date with developments.

    Required Skills and Experience:


    • Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate Engineering

    • Advanced degree(s) or equivalent demonstrated advanced design and technical leadership skills desired

    • 15+ years relevant work experience required of relevant senior engineering level experience and demonstrated performance meeting the duties listed for a System Engineer including project management

    • Experience working with multi-site, international project teams

    • Demonstrate leadership design skills in at least two or more technical disciplines such as analog circuit, digital circuit, software, and/or system design

    • Demonstrate ability to develop, articulate and present technical information appropriately targeted to meet the needs of audiences at all levels from the highly technical to the non-technical and at all business levels including business executives (including customers) in both written, verbal and presentation forms

    • Demonstrate ability to take input from multiple sources, define one technical plan to meet the product needs and get buy-in from all parties to implement that plan

    • Conduct in-depth technical interviews and make assessments and recommendations that support the hiring of capable and talented technical staff in Engineering and other departments

    • Perform CCA design specifying mixed-signal technology circuits consisting of processors, I/O communications, and programmable logic devices (FPGA, CPLD)

    • Strong RTL coding/simulation/debug capabilities using VHDL and/or Verilog (VHDL preferred)

    • Experience with RTL simulation, Synthesis, and Static Timing Analysis in one or more of the following toolsets: Xilinx Vivado, Altera/Intel Quartus, Lattice Diamond, and Microsemi Libero

    • Familiarity with multiple networking protocols including PCIe, 1G/10G Ethernet, Fibre Channel, 1553, 1394

    • Strong skills and experience in troubleshooting hardware issues using software and hardware tools

    • Software/hardware design experience in High Speed Networking, including IEEE 802.1Q Ethernet switching, TCP/IP protocols, and VLANs

    • Experience with MIL-STD-1553, Fibre Channel, ARINC-429 and DO-254 is highly desirable
