Summary:

We are looking for a Transportation Routing Specialist to work for our award-winning client in New York.

Responsibilities:

• Coordinate between road transport and shipping departments to control the flow of work.

• Responsible for the efficient dispatch of all freight and oversee associated administration.

• Manage the logistics operation, issuing routes to drivers, correct shipment schedules and communicating with vendors and customers to ensure the successful dispatching of goods.

• Manage and maintain files, documents, shipping schedules, route directions, personnel schedules, maintenance orders, labor costs, manufacturing costs, maintenance costs, production schedules, inventory details, backlogs, shortages and outstanding bills.

Required Skills and Experience:

• 3+ years’ experience in logistics, distribution and administration.

• Experience with the Appian routing system or equivalent and Microsoft Office.

• AS400 is a plus.

• Strong communication and multi-tasking. Able to resolve disputes and eliminate delays, collaborate with supervisors and personnel to assess progress and improve efficiency.

• Experience in the Food or Grocery industry
