    Summary:

    This is a unique opportunity for the candidate looking to work on exciting new control systems in the military and defense industry, and grow their career in a company on the move. We are seeking to fill an Electrical Engineering Lead position to complement our electro-mechanical design team.

    The right candidate will have under their belt a proven record of hands on design work in the field of embedded electronic controls. This candidate will have mastered the phases related to requirements analysis, design and transition to production.

    The right candidate will have experience in, and be able to quickly troubleshoot analog and digital circuits.

    Once this candidate is in position and has taken stock of the existing product line, they will have an opportunity to be the point person responsible to hire and setup a full team of hardware and software engineers to design and certify the next generation control system for aerial delivery. Therefore the candidate must have a proven track record of leading other engineers.

    They will also be responsible for setting the standard of work for the manufacture of the components inside the plant.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    The Electrical Engineering Lead reports to the Director of Engineering with a dotted line report to the Military Business Unit Manager.

    The right candidate must be able to perform the following successfully:

    • Take ownership of the existing product line at USCS, and solve related electrical issues as they come up.
    • Take ownership and successfully complete the development of the next generation proximity sensor (inductive).
    • Be able to select a control system architecture, including defining Line Replaceable Units (LRU’s) interfaces and associated documentation.
    • Be able to set the standard for high volume, high quality manufacturing of electronic assemblies.
    • Participate and be “hands on” in the troubleshooting of electrical issues.
    • Provide leadership on design of electrical components.

    Education:

    • Minimum: Bachelor of Science degree (B.S.) in Electrical Engineering from a four-year college or university;
    • Preferred: Master of Science degree (M.S.) in Electrical Engineering or related field of study

    Preferred Experience:

    • Experience in performing System Safety Assessments perARP-4761.
    • Experience in the process of developing hardware per DO-254, with direct experience in the certification process of Complex Hardware to Design Assurance Level A or B.
    • Experience in developing EMC Control Plans at either the System or Equipment level perMIL-STD-461.
    • Experience in designing interfaces to serial data buses, including bus loading calculations.
    • Ensure the fidelity of requirement Validation and Verification for all projects.
    • Creation, review and approval of technical reports covering the following topics: EMC Control Plans, Environmental performance verification and qualification
