    Summary:

    The Plant Engineering Manager will manage the optimization of the plant equipment and process flow within the facility. Must interface daily with operations to identify/resolve problems, implement solutions including diagnosing, troubleshooting, and resolving equipment issues. Ensuring safety and quality are embedded in best practices which will be used for reliable, repeatable outputs. Manages all major capital improvement projects.

    Responsibilities:

    • Manage Facility Maintenance department and provide support, direction, and guidance to the Facility Maintenance department supervisor.
    • Develop and implement plant engineering preventive maintenance program.
    • Assist in establishing guidelines related to plant systems to ensure proper maintenance and safety standards are met.
    • Manage metrics and reporting related to preventive maintenance (ie. MEFF) and drive improvements.
    • Manage metrics and reporting related to utility usage and drive improvements.
    • Work with key vendors to improve operations and reduce equipment/service costs.
    • Evaluate, identify, and work with internal & external resources to implement projects related to energy efficiency and other cost reduction opportunities.
    • Support plant personnel, contractors and engineering departments in managing capital projects.
    • Implement capital plan and project justifications, entry and tracking. Enter and manage capital projects or support plant personnel as needed.
    • Manage plant systems to ensure safe and efficient operations.
    • Identify and troubleshoot infrastructure system issues/inefficiencies and provide problem/improvement resolution.
    • Evaluate plant capacity including electrical, water, and compressed air.
    • Create layout options and make recommendations for equipment moves and new equipment installations to accommodate improved process flows.
    • Cast vision to implement corporate best practices in plant.
    • Responsible for implementing/expanding/managing maintenance and “Reliability” of systems and equipment to continuously reduce downtime and improve site production.
    • Actively search for ideas and ways to reduce expenses and improve quality without compromising superior customer service.
    • Manage reliability efforts throughout the plant.
    • Support equipment moves, plant consolidations, and expansion projects to ensure facility and infrastructure is in place to support operations
    • Identify and drive cost reductions related to utilities operations and efficiency improvements
    • Establish guidelines related to plant systems to ensure proper maintenance and safety standards are met.
    • Perform other duties as assigned by the Plant Manager and Other Managers.
    • Serve as the technical leader in the plant related to plant engineering, infrastructure, and operational excellence.

    Required Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, BSME, BSCE, BSEE, BSIE.
    • 5 - 15 years of experience.
    • Exposure to ABB Allen Bradley Siemens, PLC control systems, Servos motor control, AC/DC circuits, drive systems, basic machine controls.
    • Experience with Autocad preferred or ability to learn.
    • Outstanding written and oral communication skills.
    • Microsoft Excel, Word, AutoCAD, and windows.
    • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities and meet timelines.
    • Leadership qualities to facilitate teamwork and drive results with all levels of the organization.
    • Strong leadership, communication, and motivational skills.
    • Plastic, Polymer, and/or Blown Film (or very similar) experience highly preferred.
