    Summary:

    Our award-winning client is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join their team. Our client is an established electronics company on Long Island is starting new projects and going through a growth phase. They are actively seeking candidates for several key positions in electronic hardware design, software development, mechanical engineering, test engineering, project engineering, systems engineering, etc., including the position below. Experience with databases or other high-reliability electronics and software communications products is preferred.

     

    Responsibilities:

    • Box-level and board-level mechanical design- shock and vibration, heat transfer modeling and design, heat conduction, thermal radiation and analysis.

    • Solve mechanical and thermal challenges at the box and/or board level.

    • Work with the design team to optimize design tradeoffs for product cost, performance, feature set, time to market, and technical risk.

    • Be involved in testing and test planning.

    • Create, coordinate, and monitor all aspects of mechanical and thermal product design from research and development to design, test and manufacture.

    • Conceive innovative methods for achieving product requirements and specifications using appropriate design, process, manufacturing and mechanical techniques.

     

    Required Qualifications:

    • Skills in CAD drafting/modeling (SolidWorks preferred).

    • Knowledge of: VPX, MOSA, SOSA, Thermal Analysis, EMC/EMI, Test Equipment, Qualification Support.

    • Working knowledge of Military specifications (e.g. MIL-STD-810) and IP (Ingress Protection) ratings as they apply to board and box-level products.

    • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering is required. Graduate degree desirable.

    • Approximately three to five years related engineering experience.

    • Experience in Military/Aerospace industry a plus.
