    Summary:

    Global market leader in food manufacturing seeks a Senior Food Engineer / Senior R&D Food Scientist to lead the development of new products, oversee pilot plant operations and ensure the products maintain the integrity, consistency, and quality expected.

    This role is with the Global Food Technology team. Looking for somebody curious and passionate about food science, and who is motivated by the process of problem solving and experimentation. You’ll be joining a team that operates with a start-up/entrepreneurial mentality.

    Responsibilities:

    As a Senior Scientist, you will focus on how to bring a product vision into reality. Success in this role involves experimenting and prototyping to generate solutions, and selling these solutions into your business partners.

    • Provide technical expertise and leadership to functional groups across all companies in order to directly influence the achievement of business objectives.
    • Supervise technical activities of other professionals and specialists with complete project accountability, assuring effective execution of assigned projects.
    • Lead new and existing dairy product development initiatives.
    • Provide judgment and experience to assure that an appropriate level of technical common sense and discipline are being employed and utilized in business decisions.
    • Identify and develop research programs to drive cost optimization through formulation and processing efficiencies.
    • Work with all R&D groups and other functions, prepare plans and lead their execution against broad technical problems.
    • Exhibit leadership and proactive attitudes in approaching technical solutions to business and market issues.

    Required Skills and Qualifications:

    • 5+ yrs R&D food manufacturing experience.
    • Dairy and/or pasteurization experience, or very similar.
    • Demonstrates technical expertise in food technology, food processing.
    • Experience with the commercialization of products - from concept to completion.
    • Experience in liquid pasteurization, drying, and aseptic packaging preferred.
    • Experience identifying opportunities for competitive market advantage through creative prototype development.
    • Experience identifying and approving potential ingredients, manufacturing and co-manufacturing suppliers.
    • Leadership / management experience.
    • BS degree in Food Engineering or Food Science highly preferred.
