    Summary:

    The Financial Specialist is responsible for the financial management, review and estimating of assigned programs. In this role, the Financial Specialist partners with program management teams to analyze and understand their financial position. The analyst will prepare monthly customer financial reports, verify actual cost reporting, provide variance analysis, and support monthly closing activities.

    Responsibilities:

    • Partner with Program Management to generate monthly customer financial reports.
    • Review project billings to ensure subcontract and customer invoices are accurate.
    • Make recommendations to management on financial performance projections using financial and business knowledge and experience.
    • Identify, generate and ensure the proper recording and documentation of any required correcting entries.
    • Ensure project setup within the ERP meets the need of both the company and the contract's reporting needs.
    • Responsible for ensuring contract modifications are accurately and appropriately recorded.
    • Prepare cost and pricing proposals.
    • Other special projects as directed by Management.

    Required Skills and Experience:

    • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance with 5-7 years of relevant work experience.
    • Advanced Excel and Microsoft Office skills.
    • Solid understanding of accounting and finance principles, as well as familiarity with DFAR, FAR and CAS.
    • Extensive knowledge and hands-on application of Deltek Costpoint modules (i.e., Project Revenue and Costs, General Ledger, Materials Management, and Inventory Management) and Cognos reporting tools.
    • Excellent communications skills (written, verbal, and presentation).
    • Strong sense of initiative, independence, closure, and ability to navigate multiple priorities in a tight- deadline, high-volume environment.
    • Highest standards of accuracy and precision; highly organized.
