    Summary:

    Our award-winning client is seeking a Digital Hardware Design Engineer to join their team. Our client is an established electronics company on Long Island is starting new projects and going through a growth phase. They are actively seeking candidates for several key positions in electronic hardware design, software development, mechanical engineering, test engineering, project engineering, systems engineering, etc., including the position below.     Qualified candidates will have strong technical and project management skills. Experience with databases or other high-reliability electronics and software communications products is preferred.

    Responsibilities:


    • Meeting with design and engineering teams to determine hardware requirements.

    • Designing and developing components such as printed circuit boards (PCB), processors, memory modules, and network components.

    • Collaborating with software engineers to ensure software compatibility and integration with the hardware components.

    • Testing hardware prototypes and analyzing and interpreting performance data.

    • Generating analytic and performance reports for presentation and revision.

    • Troubleshooting and diagnosing errors and suggesting suitable repairs or modifications.

    • Overseeing the manufacturing process of electrical components to ensure they meet the design specifications.

    • Implementing maintenance, repairs, and modifications to existing components.

    • Keeping up to date with the latest advancements in computer technology and design trends.

    Required Skills and Experience


    • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineer

    • 5-10 years relevant work experience required

    • Schematic capture experience in Cadence OrCad required

    • Perform CCA design specifying mixed-signal technology circuits consisting of processors, I/O communications, and programmable logic devices (FPGA, CPLD)

    • Strong RTL coding/simulation/debug capabilities using VHDL and/or Verilog (VHDL preferred)

    • Circuit layout knowledge of Cadence Allegro is desirable using EMI design practices

    • Familiarity with multiple networking protocols including PCIe, 1G/10G Ethernet, 1394

    • Strong skills and experience in troubleshooting hardware issues using software and hardware tools

    • Experience with MIL-STD-1553, USB 2.0 and 3.0, PCIe, and ARINC-429 is highly desirable

    • Experience with DO-254 is desirable
